2. tougher hands?
Let's see:

Lincoln: half of the country going into armed revolt, slavery

FDR: economic collapse, attacked by one superpower, having war declared against the US by another superpower the next day.

Jefferson (or was it Madison, I forget): invasion by a foreign power, Washington DC burned.

I'd say these were all pretty tough hands.

5. A tough hand?
What would this administration look like if it were dealng with a democratic majority in congress? Damn, look what Clinton accomplished while having to deal with a republican congress, AND bogus investigations into his real estate dealings, sexual indiscretions, travelgate, etc. Bush has skated on everything!

10. Imagine what the economy would be like today if ...
Clinton hadn't have turned it over to him in such great shape. What would our deficits look like today if he had been handed a country with revenue deficits the same as his father handed to Clinton.

6. Hmmmm let's see..... scare the country into becoming a blob of
non-thinking flag waving automatons..... then beat up on countries that have no air force, no navy, no submarines, no cruise missiles, no javelins, no tow missiles, no tomahawk missiles, no bunker busters, no smart bombs, no cluster bombs, and NO WMD's.

Countries whose claim to fame are caves in mountains and an economy crippled by 10 years of sanctions and bombing.

Yeah.... so tough... such a tough job to go and beat up on the scrawny kid in the neighborhood all the while ignoring real nuclear threats the world over.... and further still... including two of the countries that funded 911 in our "grand coalition".

So tough... it must be hard... real hard selling this to an unsuspecting American public. Canada is looking better every day.

7. Um... FDR?
A depression, a rising threat in Europe, an attack on our country... I mean, it's not like FDR was able to deal with that any better, right? So, we can't possibly expect Bush to help us out of this mess.

9. Well if you didn't want to do the hard work, Georgie,
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 10:25 AM by Cat Atomic
why the fuck did you steal the election to begin with?

I think this message makes Bush look like a whiny man-boy complaining about his chores. Just like when Bush pounded the podium in the first debate and whined about the "hard work".

11. Yeah, hard to win with 4 Aces

  • His party in the majority in both houses of Congress
  • Corporate media shilling for him around the clock
  • 9/11 attack playing right into his hands just like the Reichstag fire in Germany
  • Base of plutocrats lining up to write his campaign huge checks

Poor guy, what a lousy hand!

12. The thing about this whole ad campaign
that I think is priceless, is the fact that all the spots are voiced by the same guy who does the Miller Beer commercials. He holds on to the last syllable of words breathily: "High Lifffffffe."

Leave it to Bush to pick a beer salesman as his pitchman.

15. Damn, I didn't realize that.
Good thing I don't drink Miller.

I may make an exception for their subsidiary Leinenkugel.

13. Proves Bu$h a LOSER. If Gore had not been cheated out of the WH, Al
would be saying this right now:

"America remains peaceful and prosperous. Terrorism is no longer a threat, and our nation is more secure than ever before. We are more respected among other nations than at any other time in history, our environment is healing, every American has health care, and enrollment in universities is at an all-time high. America has never been safer, stronger, more respected, or more prosperous."

Just like John Kerry will be saying after he is elected and fixes the disaster that Bu$h has made of our country.

14. Answer: Yes, Many Of Them
Roosevelt got dealt a Depression, the Fascist Movement in Europe, the strengthening of the Stalinist state in the USSR, and imperialist expansionism in the Far East.

Kennedy got dealt a Soviet threat of expansionism just as they were getting froggy about their ability to launch nuclear missiles. Really we think 9/11 was bad, but October 1962 brought the entire world to the brink of the "45 minutes until everybody's dead" point.

Lincoln got dealt a pretty tough hand since secessionists were talking the talk just in CASE he got elected. And, the anger in Congress was already at the boiling point before he was even nominated by the Repubs.

Carter got dealt a hand of oil embargos, rampant inflation, wage and price controls (hey, good idea Nixon and Ford!), and a massive mistrust in all things gov't.

Clinton got dealt a huge deficit thanks to the dumbasses in the Reagan administration.

So, the answer to the moron who wrote the copy for that ad: Yes. Next Question. Li'l Georgie was actually dealt one of the better hands. Sort of like Ike, and Harding. And look how well those two did. Well, at least they did better than 43.

The Professor
