Thank you, everyone, for cheering me up (and thank you, admins!)

This morning I turned on ABC news (why do I torture myself?!) to a report of the debate.

Kate Snow showed some clips, then mentioned that the Republicans thought Kerry's "marrying up" joke was a flop, and that the reference to Dick Cheney's daughter was unnecessary. Then a clip of Lynne Cheney saying how disgusted she was by it.

(NO mention of the democratic response to the debate.)

Next, they go to their undecided voters who also mentioned how unnecessary the comment was about Cheney's daughter and how they're sick of all the negativity. Finally, it was pointed out that by the end, 5 of the undecideds had made up their mind to vote Bush, and 1 Kerry. (!)

But then I logged on to DU, saw all the good news and positive threads re: the debates, and felt much better!

Thank you everyone! :hi:

P.S. And thank you, admins, for keeping DU running during the debate nights, as well as putting together the list of polls for us!

5. This is why the growing momentum
will be quiet and large. By suppressing it they are making it worse in the long run. No one will take a Kerry victory for granted. This is still a landslide recipe and you can thank the bumbling incompetence of the media and their fatal loyalty to Bushco boobs. Polls from here on are mainly useful as to which states are closer than others and what new ground is opening up. Trying to be a self-fulfilling prophecy(which failed last time and during the Clinton impeachment) they are building the opposite.

2. Those voters were not undecided in the first place
A lot of Repugs are posing as undecideds.

6. I saw clear example of that after the 1st debate.
Chris Matthews interviewing a row of college students. He talked to one girl, saying that before the debate she'd been undecided, what did she think now? She said she was now totally going to vote Bush. Matthews asked about the Bush/Cheney sign she was waving, and she said she ran and bought it right after the debate.

What Matthews DIDN'T ask about was the clearly not brand new Bush/Cheney t-shirt she was wearing.

3. Why, oh why do you torture yourself like that?
I flip around the channels, but take them all with a large grain of salt these days. I saw those "undecideds" on ABC, those are the same ones they've had all during the debates, and right after the first one, when they were introducing these people, it was let slip that the majority of those people were Republicans. So much for fair and balanced:eyes:

9. Hey.... check this out... the Iraqis have a Linux users group.... imagine
such a terribly backward country needing gw to come and really mess things up for them....

I am amazed and THIS cheers me up... I am sure MS will have something to say about what is and isn't the "standard" for schools, governmental institutions, military etc... still it cheers me up that they are onto the real thing already, and probably were before their economy was attacked.....
