Baghdad Blasts in Fortified Zone Kill 7 Civilians

Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Seven civilians were killed and at least 15 were hurt in two explosions in Baghdad's fortified international zone, which houses government offices and foreign missions, the U.S. military said.

One of the blasts shortly before 1 p.m. local time killed six people and wounded 10 at a bazaar in the central area, a U.S. military spokeswoman said by telephone from the Iraqi capital. The Green Zone Cafe was hit by a second explosion that killed one and injured five, she said. the military earlier said two were killed in that blast.

How much will Halliburton charge to make a new sign for the "Green Zone Cafe"???

If it weren't so tragic it would be amusing. :-(

1. Red Zone may be more appropriate, weren't the use of forts...
...as protection from enemy attack abandoned 100 years ago?
