GW & Laura got reproductive help? Where are the spare Devilled Eggs? |
|
This was a thread subject yesterday--So, did they have in-vitro? There are a few treatments that result in fraternal twins, triplets, etc. Do you think GWB Jr. is in a test tube somewhere?

2. That explains the fraternal twins who have nothing in common with... |

...each other and don't even look alike. Cocaine, drugs and heavy alcohol use can make the user (in this case Dubya) infertile reducing sperm counts to almost nothing. The extra eggs if * was not fertile would belong to the fertility clinic. That means that there could be 100's even 1,000's of half fraternal siblings out there in clone-space or even waiting yet to be conceived. Think of it, if young Jeanna or Barbara also have to use the services of a fertility clinic and received implants from the same place as mother Laura did, the child could be their own sabling. How weird is that? Beats the Cheney's situation with daughter Mary, eh.

8. I've wondered about that |
|
I knew a faculty member in college whose child was born serverely disabled (deaf, physical impairments, mental retardation) because of his father's drug and alcohol abuse. (Of course, the folks who want to incarcerate pregnant women for drug use don't tell you that male substance abuse causes a shitload of genetic damage as well.)
I'd always wondered how the Shrub ended up with two shining examples of good genes -- this might be the answer.

That explains a lot . . . Gotta prove your manhood.
"Look, Laura! I just bombed a country that didn't have WMDs! It's all for you. Now can I see you naked?"

5. FWIW, I am not thrilled with characterizing the pain of infertility |
|
this way. A lot of infertile couples go through quite an ordeal. There are many methods of assisted fertilization that aren't in vitro or involving embryos. In fact, the occurence of a fraternal twin indicates a simultaneous attaching of two seperate sperm to the same egg at just the right moment...which actually seem contraindictory to in vitro fertilization. If anything, it points to treatments which lower the resistance of the coating of the ovum.
Having been through many years of heartache, and finally receiving a miracle child, I find the rather cavalier attitude towards infertility on these threads abhorrent.
but hey, that's just me.

12. What's really upsetting is that there seems to be so little awareness of |
|
how words spoken about a given issue can hurt innocent people.
The thought never seems to surface that *maybe* others on DU have been through infertility threatments, and have had a painful experience, and just *maybe* there needs to be some sensitivity.
I'm seeing this more and more on DU, the lack of sensitivity to others, and it is alarming.

the fact that others on DU *may* have gone through the experience of infertility, and suffered pain from the experience.
I'm seeing this more and more on DU....... a lack of awareness and sensitivity to others who may be hurt by careless remarks.
Then, when spoken to about it, just defend it rather than acknowledging it. We don't appreciate that uncaring trait from the other side, and it's no easier to handle coming from our own.
I would hope that more awareness is developed, and thought given to others.
Thanks for your post!

7. I think they are more giddy over |
|
the hypocracy if it is true. Nobody wants to see someone strung out on drugs or have their life ruined by coming out of the closet, but if a RWer who came out against drug users or gays is exposed, you can only expect people to jump on it.

9. But so far, this is total speculation |
|
Besides, getting giddy about the far out possibility of one of the daughters giving birth to her own sibling borders at the edges of sick. But that's just me and I'm sticking to it.

Been there, done that, eventually had kids thanks to Clomid. But I'm one of the lucky ones -- I've seen so many others suffer with infertility. It IS a painful thing to deal with.
Jenna and Barbie look like both their parents. I think their thirst for booze is also hereditary.
Let's leave that issue alone and focus on B*sh's sheer f*cking incompetence and his disdain for the poor and middle class.
