I think the mysterious bulge on Bush's back is a Kevlar vest.
My dad is completely convinced it's a transmitter, but I can't believe Bush would have done so poorly in the debates if he was getting pointers from Karl Rove the whole time. I'm almost certain it's just a bullet-proof vest or something like that...

1. Bush's people
said he wasn't wearing a bullet proof vest. And in a 70°F studio, plus lights and people, he'd be sweating in no time.

And it wouldn't bunch up into a neat oblong in the back.

2. I can hardly believe it, either, but ...
I wonder if maybe old Karl isn't so quick on the spur of the moment or something. And if * was wearing a vest, why not just say so? Unless they're afraid that would make him look cowardly. I don't know. The mystery deepens!

5. I think it is some kind of a brace. It is too help him not slump so
much. Having said that, though, I still think he is wired for stage
direction and answers to tough questions. I think they would hide that better. I think the think on his back is a brace. He even said that
Laura told him to stand up straight and not scowl. We have all seen him slumping and leaning on the podium. I don't think he did that as much during the debates and maybe a brace was the reason?????? Who knows? They will probably never tell......
