Has anyone ever heard Bush quote a passage from the Bible?
If he's such a man of god, why haven't I heard him ever quote something from the bible? Did anyone else also notice that he omitted mentioning the nation as a whole when discussing who he prays for? He plays for his family and his friends... gee, how about the troops? How about the citizenry?

3. I have heard him quote from the Bible, however
it would probably be more accurate to say I've heard him misquote.

12. Which probably explains the misquoting
He probably thinks God's name is Harold because he hears it as "Our Father, who art in heaven. Harold be thy name." Maybe he's deaf and dumb?

8. His take on religion is very manchiean
Good and evil; black and white. He's good, others are bad. Thus religion is for him, I think, a call to eternal war. There are scriptures that support that view, but i think you have to take them out of the context of the bible as a whole.

Kerry strikes me as more of a believer in the healing power of Christ--focusing on how we can improve ourselves as a nation and as individuals, rather than being focused on dividing up the sheeps and the goats.

That's just my take however.

9. He's said he prays for the troops
and their families, I think he said it in the second debate in fact. Whether its true or not is between him and God.

As a Christian, I don't think people quoting the bible proves anything. I can't quote the bible, and I'm a Christian. I can paraphrase it. Jim and Tammy Faye could quote it, and look at them. I'm sure people can think of many other examples along those lines.

I hate all this religion in the election. It's my personal beliefs, and I feel like everyone is trying to "one-up" the other on religion. Very tacky, but then again I live in the south, and we just don't talk about those things. :)

13. No, and that's mighty odd coming from a "devoted" Christian
If a follower of Christ doesn't even know his words, they are fooling themselves.

After all, if a believer was asked to sing a favorite song, the words would roll off his or her lips. Easy.

So a person who is supposedly a "devotee" of Christ would at least know some of the tunes he "sang" during his last concert 2,000 years ago.

"I'll give my heart, my soul, my all to Jesus Christ, but don't ask me to remember anything he said word-for-word. That's hard work."
