What if Bush...
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 02:17 PM by PLA0242
What if it were shown that Bush was/is suffering from some very serious medical condition that would explain some of his speech and nerve issues...

Would you feel any differently about him?

-Paige

On Edit:
It's strange to see the variety of responses...
Some could never forgive Bush, even if his medical condition might have resulted in poor judgement, speech slurs, etc etc. While others admit to a sense of compassion.

-P

3. I wouldn't feel different but
It would confirm what many have thought for a long time. I am a firm believer in Karma.... what goes around comes around.

4. Cocaine induced Parkinson's disease for example, well that would....
...really be a kick in the balls for this president now wouldn't it, given his position on embryonic stem cell research. I would feel great sadness for his family and for the president and would wish them all the best. But I will be at the polls early on Nov 2 casting my vote for the Kerry/Edwards ticket and all the democrats who are on the ballot in my district.

9. Only if he resigned, confessed to all of his crimes,
told the truth about all the members of his administration, agreed to do everything he could to cooperate with law enforcement, and endorsed Kerry and the Democrats, saying that the Repubs need to be out of power for awhile until they find their soul again.

Then I would probably find it in my heart to forgive him.

7. I'd feel sympathy and compassion
I don't like anyone to suffer but I'd still want him out of office based on his performance.

8. No I would not.
He may be having some specific medical issues right now that are effecting his behavior but he has always been a vicious sadistic little weasel, ever since he was a little boy blowing up frogs with firecrackers. He has always been incompetent at everything he's done, that wasn't to benefit himself and cronies, for as long as he's been doing anything.

If he was just some poor sucker in a mental institution I could have some compassion for him, but he is leader of the ostensible free world and in a position to do unimaginable harm. If he knew that he was impaired, he has a moral obligation to step down.

Everything in his history suggests that what he has done during his presidency comes from who he is as a person, and from the values of the family he was brought up in. Any recent neurological deficits are playing only a minor and insignificant role.

Oh, and I have an ex stepbrother who is institutionalized for mental illness and I still hate him for the vicious, evil, hateful things he did as a kid. As far as I'm concerned, he's gotten exactly what he deserved.

10. Then he definitely should step down as President.
This reminds me of a story I have from high school. There was this kid who was in a wheel chair, he was an agent orange baby, who would use his condition to steal kisses from girls who were repulsed by him. Anyway, one day in the hall, he rammed that piece of shit chair into the backs of my ankles, throwing me to the floor. He didn't apologize, he just said, "beep, beep." Now, I understand that he had problems, ones that I can only imagine. However, that does not mean that it was OK for him to act like an asshole, molesting girls and chopping up my ankles. The same goes for bush. He's a dick, and he needs to get out of the driver's seat.

12. I would feel like "You don't mess around with Mother Nature"
or God if that is your choice. Bush* has pissed off the "Big Guy" it would appear if indeed he was that ill and refused to be up front about it.

13. I wouldn't like him, but
I'd feel compassion regarding his medical condition. But I would also want the doctors looking at whether he should be in the position he's in, and I would expect him to do what's best for the nation and resign.

14. no, I don't hate him
Come on- he makes NO decisions. At some point he may haver trtied to pull rank but they heavily medicated him and knocked him back down.

He is pathetic; I have always felt sorry for him.
He's been propped up from behind for years.
