Mary Cheney decided to live openly, without shame--I respect her choice
I respect that choice, and I don't think that we should act like there is something shameful in her life by not remarking--as we so often do--that a paid political operative of the republican party is living a life that the republican party disapproves of, as the president would say, "vocifrously".

If the republicans are ashamed of the lesbian in their midst and want to confine Mary to muttered whispers, fine. Let them be ashamed. Mary isn't, I am not.
