So Kerry won all three debates. Who cares? |

After all, these debates only matter to thoughtful people. And it's pretty clear to me that a lot of Americans aren't very thoughtful. After all, almost half still support Bush and his war in Iraq.
Most of us don't really know these complex issues very well- hell even experts will disagree on what the problems are in health care and on how to reform it. So instead we rely on our social identity as either Democrats or Republicans and vote for our guy. It's pretty sad... unless John Kerry wins!

1. take a look at the national polls before and after the debates |
|
and then tell me they had no effect. Visualization of utter stupidity (that being *) is a powerful tool.

3. Yes but the effect hasn't been as robust as I had hoped given Kerry's |
|
manhanndling of Bush in the debates. The pundits and media act as though the debates don't mean a thing.

2. Totally disagree. JK connected with millions and millions of voters... |
|
... in these three debates, impressing the heck out of them every time.

My post was a bit tongue-in-cheek.

6. I agree with your assessment, but... |
|
Doesn't the fact that a grown man who can't complete a sentence without stammering do anything to sway voters away from him? He's so far removed from what most of us grew up expecting from a president that it's incredible.
He has no concept of reality outside of his Texas ranch and it shows every time he opens his pie-hole.
If any of us showed up for a job interview and performed like he did in any of the three debates, we'd be living on the streets.

8. Thoughtful people would agree with you. The sheep will not. |
|
After all, is it more important to be smart, like Kerry, or to be a "Good christian man," like Bush? The sheep don't trust smart guys.

It doesn't matter that he won. What matters is that the media reports it that way. Thus far, the media coverage has been much more favorable than it ever was for Gore. It's a great sign!
