1. That bottom pic is telling
The more I think about it the more I agree with the sentiment that Chimpy really does not want this job.

3. No, he doesn't.
He's got to many yesmen telling him he's won the debates and the election. He's in for a big surprise in January.

7. While we must not become overconfident
and in fact need to pick up the pace and get the vote out, the truth is that Kerry-Edwards are pulling into a significant lead. The republican party's ONLY chance is voter fraud, and illegally disenfrancishing democrats. And that's what they are planning to do on a large scale in ten states, because they know Bush-Cheney can NOT win otherwise.

9. And lo and behold the governor
of Colorado was carping about voter fraud yesterday. I understand some other swing state pols were doing the same thing.

10. The republican machine is desperate.
And I'm not pointing fingers at moderate republicans, or fiscal conservatives. It's the Watergate/ Iran-Contra crew. The criminal conspirators. And they are going to pull out all stops in order to try to steal votes on a state-by-state basis, in hopes of staying in power, where they can cover their tracks.

But it's not going to happen. We're going to win.

11. As soon as
I read it, I realized they knew they had lost most of the swing states. I think you're right, we are going to win. But can we hold on to it?

13. Yes.
Two things: first, democrats have to have both short term and long term goals. FDR, JFK, and Clinton knew this. (LBJ did for most of his career, but lost sight of this as president.) Some things need immediate attention; others will take a long time to fully address.

Closely related is the "neocon" infection in the American political and social body. If a person has an infection, gets some medicine from the doctor, and takes it only until they feel better, the infection mutates and comes back in a more difficult to treat form. The Watergate infection was treated only until we felt better. When Ford pardoned Nixon, it was like tossing the medicine out. The infection came back as Iran-Contra, tougher to treat. When Bush1 pardoned the criminals, saying we needed to "put this behind us," he was tossing out the medicine. The infection is back. It's Plame/Niger forgeries/neocon spy scandal and the war in Iraq. We need to fulfill the prescription for justice to make sure this disease does not raise its ugly head again.

When we do those things, and keep in mind that democracy only occures from the grass roots up, then we're on our way to reconciliation.
