WATCH ABC NOW!! Soldiers getting back to Iraq...on Primetime live...
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 09:11 PM by jab105
WATCH!

PS-I only get ABC and FOX, and usually watch ABC...I often have the tv on for background noise...and I've NEVER seen an ad for this segment on the commercials...I've seen tons of ads for the part about the kid getting yelled at in the park, but nothing for this...WTF?!?!

of their enlistment bonuses because they didn't serve their entire enlistment period! The failure to repay went on their credit reports and they couldn't rent an apt., get a credit card, etc. All while permanently disabled!

35. This is heartbreaking.
I wonder if word of this will be enough to sway some of the still "undecided" into voting for Kerry? If nothing else, people in other countries can see that the * administration doesn't just shit on foreigners, it shits on U.S. citizens, too.

Surely, even the most dense, knuckle-dragging freepers can see how evil this administration is. This election is going to be like no other we've ever seen.

36. I emailed ABC to thank them for that show
I also emailed Ted Koppell for his show. Wow, all of a sudden, media seems to be hitting hard. Oh, and the timing! I am so sad about these poor soldiers. And Nightline really going after the swiftliars, fabulous.
Two questions...
1. What are our elections coming to that we have SBV and Nightline going to Vietnam to interview villagers?

2. Do you think the show will help dull any impact that Sinclair's movie could make?

37. the people in the spotlight will be helped...finally...but those who are
suffering in silence are still suffering in silence. They must become vocal...and make their plight known collectively. Maybe then..the pentagon will take action for all.

40. Please Help Point to Veterans Organizations That Get Donations Where...
...they do the most good.

Don't have much in dollars but donate as I can to Veterans organizations, especially those helping with medical issues.

I want organizations that get the most money to people who need it, not in middleman costs.

43. Is this reported as one incident only?
I got the feeling from responses in this thread that this was more widespread but the abc article talks about only one guy - Johnson.

I'm sure it's happening way more often, but I don't want to send this story elsewhere without some other examples cuz you know what the freepers will say.

44. You haven't read all of it.

It says stories like Private Johnson's are not uncommon.

"Stories like Tyson Johnson's are not unique.

Many of the severely wounded soldiers returning from Iraq face the prospect of poverty and what they describe as official indifference and incompetence."
