Kerry wins, and takes the helm. 2005 is here, things start rolling.
Here are but a few of the issues which his administration will face and some notes/questions on them. Put yourself in the Kerry administration, how would you proceed, how would you solve problems, etc. (and feel free to add more areas and topics in those areas).
1. Iraq - stay, pull out, send in more troops, etc
2. Economy - tax cuts, increases, immigration, exporting jobs, nafta, et al.
3. Indian Affairs (what are the issues, ideas on how to solve/progress?)
4. Homelessness (even though we had more jobs under clinton, we also had more homeless people - homelessness is bigger than employment oppurtunities)
5. Health care (do we up taxes to cover all, tax breaks, how much will it cost people, and so forth)
6. Terrorism (Keep the patriot act, modify it, and a plethora of issues surrounding this)
7. Environment (add more protected land, decrease coal plants, new legislation on car emmisions, nuclear power, and so forth)
8. Space (mars, moon, shuttle, etc what direction do you want to head)
9. Africa (what policy changes should we make)
10. Aids, cancer, et al (more funding, more education, any specifics?)
11. Smoking (outlaw it, restrict it more, only allow it when and where government thinks is best, etc)
and I am sure there are many, many more. How much can he do in 4 years, how much do you expect/demand in that time frame, and where do you expect to see the US in 4 years under Kerry?
Once he is in we will need to regroup and focus our efforts on causes, other elections, and so forth. Maybe now, or soon, would be a good time to get a reading on these and many other issues,
