Phil Hendrie's best 'pretend' radio character is... |
|
when he pretends to be a Democrat. Most people have still not caught on to the fact that he is a hardcore Republican.

He does some really hateful smears of liberal attitudes. And he really doesn't want you to know that it's all made up.

I have a friend who works for Phil Hendrie. This friend claims to be an undecided independent, yet he's rabidly anti-Michael Moore, and supports his "non-partisan" opinions using links to libertarian and conservative websites. Strange.
I haven't ever heard Hendrie's show before. Can you provide a couple examples of his rhetoric? It might help me understand the psychology of why someone would claim to be "undecided" and "independent" while simultaneously referring exclusively to RW talking-points.

3. There is nothing Bush does that Hendrie doesn't love |

Hendrie loves the war... Dems are spineless, Kerry sucks, Dems don't know crap about terrorists..blah blah. If it weren't for the wacky voices you would think he was druggie Rush spewing the party propaganda.

7. That Partisan Sycophant. |
|
Quite possibly a by-product of Rush's free license to proliferate anti-democratic propaganda for decades, with little opposition in the mainstream media.
It's unfortunate, but even non-partisans I know tend to say things like, "Oh, we need a strong (read: republican. Democrats have been painted as 'weak'.) president to deal with terrorism in these troubled times". All evidence of how the media have been pushed slowly to the right over the years.

4. It's not really rhetoric.. |
|
What he does is make up these characters that have views or opinions so far out there that they are outrageous. Then he takes calls from listeners and argues with them in character. It's really bizarre. One that sticks out in my mind was at the start of the war in Iraq he pretended to be this bar owner who had a dummy of Saddam that you could, um... have anal sex with... for 5 bucks a pop. He was telling people to bring the family on down to have a go at Saddam. Then he took calls from outraged listeners. It was almost surreal, I gave up on the show after a couple listens.

6. he really went at limbaugh |
|
over the eagles' quarterback/media thing, called him a racist etc....maybe because limbaugh exposed the dark underbelly of the repuke ideology(?) hendry once had the jlo and affleck breakup case, where affleck was supposed to leave jalo(?) cause she's not white(?) enough and his career suffering.... some of hendry's shows are funny, he once had the son of a lady who died falling down stairs while the son (voiced by hendry) was helping her up to her room (lol) and the son was only interested in his inheritance; the son basically admitted trying to kill his mom several times before her unfortunate death! the moderator hendry suggested someone call the cops etc it was hilarious.
