Lynne: "Dick, I see people with orange shirts here, what does that remind you of?"

Dick Cheney: dumb look on his face, not taking the cue

Lynne: I'll help you! John Kerry's suntan? (raucous laughter from audience)

"My opponent says he idn't a flip-flopper!"

(hahahahahahahahaahahahaha from audience)

"He voted FOR the 87 billion before he voted agin it!"

(mild hahahaha)

"Massachusetts may call that normal bidness. In Texas we call that.... a horse thief!"

(HHHAHAHAHAHAAOOOHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAA)

8. Oh, yeah. (m)
The Kerry/Edwards rally I attended was mainly cheering the candidates, not booing Bush/Cheney, even the supporters of B/C, who were actually allowed to be there. It was positive, uplifting and hopeful. The B/C rallies are much more negative. And the protestors aren't allowed to be seen, let alone heard, so it is no surprise at all that what is heard are jeers and derision.

2. Amazing, isn't it?
They can insult Kerry, but are outraged at him just saying Mary Cheney is a lesbian, when they've used it for their own campaign. She's been a gay activist for years. More power to her. But to be outraged because they simply say she's a lesbian? Well HELLO, she's OUT, for God's sake! She brought her partner to a Republican fundraiser, I believe. Lord, if that isn't out, I don't know what is.

5. Funny,
while Lynne seems to be so "concerned," her daughter doesn't seem to be 'outraged' at all.

6. Anyone remember Jeb's Lesbian remark?

In a meeting with lawmakers, Bush implied that the missing girl's caregivers are lesbians.
TALLAHASSEE -- Gov. Jeb Bush told a delegation of Panhandle lawmakers during a meeting this week that he had "some juicy details" about the sexual orientation of the caregivers of a missing Miami girl.

Bush implied during the Wednesday meeting in the Capitol that Geralyn and Pamela Graham, who had just been charged in Miami with fraud stemming from the investigation into Rilya Wilson's disappearance, were lesbians.

"As (Pamela) was being arrested, she told her co-workers, "Tell my wife I've been arrested.' The wife is the "grandmother,' and the aunt is the husband," Bush explained, forming his fingers to indicate quotation marks around "grandmother."

"Bet you don't get that in Pensacola," Bush told his guests in the governor's office.

10. Silly me . . .
I started to read this thread and saw the quote,

Lynne: "Dick, I see people with orange shirts here, what does that remind you of?"

and I first thought of the prisoners at Gitmo.

13. Cheneys are in the middle of a "wag the dog" scenario
As long as they can keep this trivial matter in the news, it takes the heat off of himself and Bush and the blatant lies they told during the debates. They should not be ashamed of their daughter;
after all they've been using this as a political tool for quite a while now. Shieffer asked a question, and Bush skirted it, while John Kerry answered it. It wasn't meant to be a put down in any way. That is not John Kerry's style. Shame on them for the pretense of being shocked. I'm embarrassed for them.
