Stolen Honor 'Documentary' and the man behind the propaganda
"Documentary":
Stolen Honor - Wounds that never heal

Red White and Blue Productions

"In the mid 1960’s thousands of young American men left their families, homes and jobs and went to fight for their country in Southeast Asia. These brave men went from their farms, factories and offices to the rice paddies of Vietnam to fight for freedom in what they believed was a patriotic and noble cause. Many of them never returned. Others were shot down and captured behind enemy lines. They were forced to suffer years of brutal treatment at the hands of the Communist captors.

Their horrifying days of darkness, starvation and torture were made worse by the actions of a young American Officer named John Kerry. As these American heroes suffered in inhuman conditions, John Kerry sat comfortably in the warm glow of television lights to tell a Senate Committee that these same men were ‘war criminals’.

The story of these valiant POWs is compelling and powerful. Stolen Honor is THEIR story. It’s the story the media won’t tell you. It’s the story John Kerry doesn’t want you to hear.

“Stolen Honor” investigates how John Kerry’s actions during the Vietnam era impacted the treatment of American soldiers and POWs. Using John Kerry’s own words, the documentary juxtaposes John Kerry’s actions with the words of veterans who were still in Vietnam when John Kerry was leading the anti-war movement.

Currently in the final stages of production, Stolen Honor will be available for broadcast and on DVD and VHS video. In addition, you will be able to view excerpts from the program on this web site.

PRODUCER: Carlton Sherwood

In early 2003, Sherwood was named executive vice-president for the wvc3 Group, an antiterrorism, security firm in Reston, VA. Later that year he traveled to Iraq to conduct a theater-wide fact-finding mission and, upon his return, authored several reports on his experiences and findings.

Sherwood took an unpaid leave of absence from the wvc3 Group in June 2004 in order to establish Red, White & Blue Productions, Inc., an independent film company which produced "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal." The documentary received its initial funding entirely from Pennsylvania Veterans. Since the Stolen Honor website – www.stolenhonor.com -- was activated in late August, just prior to the debut of the film, additional funds have been received from individuals and entities nationwide. No political campaign, candidate or political party have been involved in any way in the financing or production of Stolen Honor.

Sherwood and the Moonies

Carlton Sherwood is well known for his purportedly independent investigation of Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church, Inquisition: The Persecution and Prosecution of the Reverend Sun Myung Moon. Sherwood concluded that Moon and his followers "were and continued to be the victims of the worst kind of religious prejudice and racial bigotry this country has witnessed in over a century." Sherwood himself had previously worked for the Washington Times, owned by members of the Unification Church.

----

Sherwood currently serves as Executive Vice President and Director of Communications of the WVC3 Group, Inc., an anti-terrorism, security firm headquartered in Reston, VA. <3> <4> By its own account, WVC3 is most likely benefitting from the ongoing 'war on terror'. Its website describes the "fields of homeland security, domestic preparedness, and the global war on terror" as "burgeoning" <5>.

----

Reagan Administration role

According to his profile on the WVC3 website, Sherwood "served as Special Media Advisor to the Secretary of the Navy during the Reagan Administration." <6> This is almost certainly a reference to James Webb, who held the position between 1987 and 1988 <7>. Webb is now on the Advisory Board of WVC3 <8>. These days, Webb's views on Iraq differ from Sherwood's, as Webb has been a strong critic of the decision to go to war <9>.

Sherwood blasts 'Presidential wannabes' for 'gleeful' reaction to US casualties in Iraq

On the 8th November, 2003, Carlton Sherwood appeared on the Judicial Watch Report Radio Show. The host was Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch’s president. Sherwood had just got back from Iraq and was invited onto the show to talk (over the telephone) about the worsening security situation. <10> At about 42 minutes and 10 seconds into the show, Sherwood said:

"Every time I get up in the morning and I turn on the cable news and I see that one or two more of our soldiers have been killed it’s like a kick in the guts to me, personally. But it’s also a double whammy because I know what soundbite’s going to follow that. And you’re right. It’ll be some wannabe - a Presidential wannabe, or one of their aides, carping, almost gleefully, using your word, almost gleefully that, uh, this is one more evidence of a failure." <11>

4. Vietnam wasn't a glorious war.
We had to face the truth back then, and we can't change that now with patriotic BS. I knew many of the young kids who did come back and some of those who didn't, which as far as I'm concerned, were the lucky ones.

There were so many scars on those kids both physical and invisible. The invisible ones were the worst.

7. I don't have to check the shelters. They are out there
in the streets and in the shopping centers parking lots, and sleeping under brush alongside the freeways. At one time they could find shelter at the VA Old Soldier's Homes. Thanks to Reagan and other Republican politicians funding was cut to the homes in the early 1980s and they were all thrown out into the street. At that time they were mostly WWII and Korean War vets with some Vietnam vets. But now the Vietnam vets are becoming the age where they should be able to go into an Old Soldiers' home and they don't exist anymore.

8. When I lived in Santa Monica
it was Vietnam Vets and the mentally ill whom Reagan also ousted, in the park above the beach. The only "HONOR" stolen was that which those who served were due. When one looks at the legacy of war, the knee-jerk repsonse of berating anyone opposed to it seems as looney as some of those guys I met on the beach way back when...

6. I'm always taken aback....
Just what are the connections between conservatives and the "moonies"?
I just don't get how the christian right extremists and their cronies could become so intertwined with the unification church...does it all just boil down to mutual benefit?
