Despite debate statement, no flu vaccine from Canada!!

WASHINGTON Despite President Bush's suggestion the US might obtain flu vaccine from Canada, his Health and Human Services secretary says it probably won't happen. Tommy Thompson says a few million unsold doses have been found in Canada and elsewhere, but it's not licensed for sale in the US. (Note: you know those Canadian drugs could kill us!)

Thompson says if foreign supplies met certain conditions, that might allow some to be brought to the US as experimental medicine.

In last night's presidential debate, Bush said the U-S was "working with Canada" to obtain some vaccine. That's despite the fact his administration opposes US cities and states importing cheaper medications based on safety fears.
