60 year old women (and older) might not be voting for *..Here's why.
Women that age REMEMBER the maternity homes.. Probably every one of them "knew someone" or might have even BEEN one who either went to one, or had a back-alley abortion so they did not have to go to one..They were young women when there was no pill.. There WERE horny boyfriends, lecherous "uncles" & assorted other male relatives/friends, so there WERE unplanned pregnancies back then..Lots of them.. The "lucky" ones ended up married to a guy who they probably stayed with, happily or unhappily.. Rememebr too, that this age of women were the divorce pioneers, so those "hurry-up" marriages were not all they were cracked up to be..

For women this age, ALL the options were BAD.. I doubt seriously that these women could search their souls , and vote for *...even if they tell people they are..

These are the SAME women who are about to (or are already) collect(ing) Social Security.. * cannot be trusted to handle SS, and these women are savvy enoough to realize it..

3. My thoughts exactly
Yeah, and I've had the suspicion for a while that he's been wanting to overturn Roe vs. Wade. SCARY

4. I'm not as sold on his "religiosity" as some people are, but he loves
the VOTES of the fundies he caters to.. That's what makes him so dangerous.. He is williing to pander away the rights of MOST women, in order to get votes from a bunch of people who are dead-set on imposing THEIR "values" on EVERYONE...

To hear these wackies talk, one would think that there are traveling abortionists, breaking into homes, forcibly aborting babies..:eyes:

he stirs up unreasonable fear,..for EVERY group..

5. Welcome Neica
:hi: You bet he wants to overturn Roe v Wade, and if this old gramma has anything to say about it, he won't!
I remember the days before birth control pills and legal abortion. Never again will we go back to those times.
The only way I would ever have had an abortion is if I were carrying a child with a birth defect that would cause it to have a terrible life, but I also would never deny one to someone who feels that she needs one for any reason. That's a decision that only she can make, and I'm sure it's not done easily.

6. I would think any women would be nuts to vote for Bush
Heck even Barbara and George were with us before RR. George and Barbara gave up that belief when he lost to RR and got on that ticket.Never knew a Bush to stand up for anything in my life. Their women can fly to Europe and do all the things regular people can not do anyhow.

7. My 78 year old grandmother...
...said (paraphrase), "I think all those politicians who start wars should have to send their own kids to fight them." Three of her sons fought in Vietnam, and my mother (who was the youngest child) says that she remembers her mother bursting into tears when one of her brothers sent them a picture of him in his army uniform.

My grandmother is definitely voting for Kerry---she apparently lectured one of my uncles recently when she realized that he was going to vote Republican, even though she was in a hospital bed at the time (she's diabetic---she was having blood-sugar problems).

8. Lived up the street
from one of those homes when I was growing up. The girls were forever running away from it. What a nightmare solution. What's next from Bushco - The Poor House??

9. What makes you think
the poor deserve to live in a house? Just trying to think like * here. It wouldn't be compassionate to put them in a house. They would feel guilty about living in a house without the money to pay for it.
