2. I'll bite. The Supreme Court. |
|
This nation cannot withstand more life time appointments like Scalia and Thomas, let alone all their clones clogging the lower court benches.
For me, the Supreme Court is the ultimate trump card.

I am no huge fan of Kerry's but he won the Dem. Primary system and I respect that and am working hard to get him elected. But I think there are better out there.

On edit: Subject line should have read: "My husband and I voted for Kerry yesterday." We'll be out of town until November 6th so we voted by absentee ballots. There is no single reason Kerry won our vote. He's just proven himself to be the very best person for the job on all counts. He's a patriot. I'll be happy to have John Kerry for my President.

36. He got my vote today. |

Got my absentee ballot and filled it out on the spot. Straight Dem ticket but I filled in all the "little ovals", not wanting to take any chance of my vote being miscounted. Not that the repugs in my state would stoop to that...oh yeah, I'm in NH where they jam Dem phone lines and have the DOJ prevent the names of Bush/Cheney operatives who may have been involved from being revealed...think they'd look for bogus reasons to throw out votes, too?

Don't get me wrong; I like Kerry, I just buy very much into the Yellow Dog Theory.
Sadly, that won't give him my vote; that'll only make me want to vote for him.
In order for him to get my vote, someone will have to make me an American citizen in the next 17 days when I've never lived there.

Sadly, that and a few crumbs to the left are about all I can get out of Kerry. He is (or, more precisely, his imperialistic foreign policy advisors are) very wrong on foreign policy, but it's not like I can change that.
I'll just have to work at changing his mind once he's in office. I'm sure he'll listen more than b*sh will.

50. He's the Democratic candidate. |
|
That's all I've ever needed. Props to him for, by and large, being an actual Democrat, but it wouldn't matter to me. It's the 'D' attached to his name that does it. There's never been a Democratic candidate for the White House who hasn't, by my terms, been superior to the Republican and I'm guessing, the road the Republicans are careening down the past decade or so, there ain't ever gonna be one.
