HOW AWESOME is that guy? I do believe there were at least 15,000 people in attendance in the quad at USC. It was a small stage with two video screens. There were a total of about 10 freeper types in attendance, attempting to be disruptive but everyone just ignored them and laughed at them. Moore was hysterical in mocking them. The best they could do was yell "BOO" a few times. I wish I was kidding. The 4 near me, up front, stage right, tucked tail and left after I stood in front of them and kept backing up, invading their personal space and making them uncomfortable. They mumbled something about me being FBI, which was pretty funny, because I had a black coat on, I guess? These were big, beefy football types, who were oddly intimidated by a 5'5 blond chick who turned her back on them... go figure.
Moore was impressive, energetic, caustic and FUNNY! He is a sarcastic, witty and outstanding with the one-liners. He showed us some 'commercials' he made to send the bush team, my favorite being how "kerry is a coward because he didn't actually die for his country." Another was on Cleland and how, if he was a real hero, he would have given up that 4th limb for his country. VERY tongue in cheek, satirical to the point about the absurdity of the bush campaign hate smears. He had a great message about not letting these people continue to ravage our nation; his passion for America and our constitution is impressive and awe-inspiring.
There was very, very little security, oddly enough. And no one was aggressive or scary. I only saw one sheriff's deputy, 1 campus security and 1 rent a gate-keeper. For a crowd that large, everyone was so well mannered, and enthusiastic... It was inspiring.
A REAL thrill was seeing Zack de la Rocha from Rage Against the Machine towards the end, he WOWED the crowd, was a brilliant and inspired speaker, VERY eloquent and had everyone going wild.
Moore rocks, without a doubt. LOVE that guy!
