Brian Lamb Taking a Right-Winger Apart on CSPAN!
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 08:46 AM by GiovanniC
Pointing out his hypocrisy in supporting O'Reilly and criticizing Clinton.

Brian is in a mood today. He's hilarious.

CALLER: Bill O'Reilly tries to cut through the spin.
BRIAN: Does Bill O'Reilly spin?
CALLER: He tries not to. He tries to keep things true.
BRIAN: So Bill O'Reilly only tells the truth?
CALLER: Better than most. He's not perfect, but yeah.

CALLER: Everyone focusing on this... blah blah... skating over others who do the same thing...
BRIAN: Did everyone skate over Bill Clinton?
CALLER: Yeah.
BRIAN: How many months did we spend talking about Bill Clinton?
CALLER: But nothing happened.

5. Well you know Clinton wasn't flogged on the Mall was he?
I mean he was publically humiliated and embarrassed, but he got to keep on being president, so I guess it doesn't count.

He's challenging EVERYONE.

13. Quite frankly
I think it's grossly inappropriate to call a co-worker "honey" or "sweetie". It may not be on the same low level as O'Lielly but it's still wrong.

Now Andrea Mackris led Bill O'Reilly on. And Bill O'Reilly lets people decide their opinions for themselves.

And more RWingers getting on than left.

11. Don't you know?
If a woman gets harassed, it's her own fault — you know, she dresses seductively or smiles provocatively. And if a man takes it a step further and rapes her, she must have been asking for it. :puke:

The neanderthals will be showing their true colors on this.

They are calling her a slut because she taped the phone calls and O'reilly is a VICTIM. Oh, and she didn't follow procedures!

Bullshit. Go to the EEOC office and that is exactly what they will tell you to do....document every way you can. Write it down, record it, get witnesses.

I hate this country right now. :grr:

That sounds like the Pox "news" lineup. Who comes first - Vanity and Colmes (farts) before o'reilly (a bowel movement), or is it the other way around? Shows ya how much I watch the Pox "news" network - I don't have the faintest idea of who's on first. They're all interchangeable.

BTW, TahitiNut, that is one HILARIOUS metaphor! Applause!!!

figure of authority every time in cases like this.

I have a little experiment I run regularly. I like to listen to right-wing radio immediately after some instance of police brutality is caught on tape. The callers side with the cops- almost without exception. No matter how blatant the brutality is, no matter how obviously out of line the cops are- the right-wingers will instinctually back the authority figure.

They do it when employers or corporations are charged with abuses, too.

I think it's tied into the whole "I need a strong daddy" thing, personally.

29. Authoritarianism is about the 'followers'.
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 10:42 AM by TahitiNut
We're heavily indoctrinated in this country.

Parents are "authority figures." (Most resort to "because I say so" much of the time.)
Teachers are "authority figures." (Most resort to "because I say so" much of the time.)
Bosses are "authority figures." (Most resort to "because I say so" much of the time.)
Police are "authority figures." (Most resort to "because I say so" much of the time.)

Smirky McFascist leverages this. He's constantly saying he was 'right' because he still agrees with himself. :eyes:

My favorite button for many years, which I still wear, is "Question Authority!"

24. Yes, heaven forbid
We ask men to control themselves. :eyes:

Do men think that women don't get lustful thoughts or turned on in the workplace? Most — and I'm qualifying this because I know we can all cite cases where the reverse is true — women control these impulses.

But, then again, often this is more about power and control than lust.

Even people like Mickey Kauss. Especially on Fridays...he always has on the same guys from HF, AEI, etc. Rarely has on liberal writers, think tank folks and I have never seen a blogger to balance Kauss. Oh yeah, and Druge is on, but a lot but I've only seen Brock on once.
