Cheney gets front page of Lakeland Ledger....Democrat gets one paragraph
The picture is just huge in the print edition. The pic and article take up a lot of the front page. Pete Peterson, former congressman and veteran....gets one paragraph. A reporter was at Peterson's meeting, but according to our friend he took no notes nor did he even take pictures. If this makes you mad, go here to contact. Not that it matters, Bush and Cheney get all the publicity they want here.

Most of two pages is about Cheney, and our poor little Democrat gets one paragraph...Pathetic.

SNIP.."Trying to counter Cheney's appearance, former Democratic congressman and ambassador Pete Peterson came to the Polk County Democratic headquarters on Combee Road. Peterson, a former prisoner of war during Vietnam and the first post-war ambassador to that country, said that the Kerry-Edwards ticket is more understanding of the military and veterans than President Bush and Cheney...."

Here is Pete's bio.

That's it, folks, that is all he got.

If any of this bothers you, you can contact the paper here.

1. For what it is worth, there is also a poll on that webpage as well
Did John Kerry help himself with his performance in the three debates?
Yes 50.6%
No 49.4%
Number of votes cast: 166

4. I've noticed that these polls at this paper get freeped heavily.
When the poll question is non-political the response is usually less than a hundred. When the question is of a political nature or in the repubs interest the response is usually in the hundreds and usually overwhelmingly in the RWers favor.

5. Yes, the polls do get freeped badly.
And the phone in polls do as well. It is like an organized movement locally.

2. Also notice the big emphasis on Kerry's statement on Mary Cheney.
Do you think they are aware of Lynn Cheney's book at all? Or just naive. Or trying to bash Kerry to keep it from coming out about the book.

I would love to send them the link to Lynn's book, but I won't.

3. Just found out that several reporters were there.
And the former Vietnam embassador gets one lousy paragraph at the end of the ad for Cheney.
;(
