Yesterday on C-Span, 2:00pm to 4:00pm EDT, a panel discussion...
...was being televised withe the topic being "Sovereignty and Security in Iraq". I believe it said it was sponsored by the American Heritage Foundation. Did anyone see it? (Yesterday being Oct 14, 2004).

I only got to listen to a very short segment before going back to work. I have been looking for a transcript of the discussions by the individual panel members. One statement jumped out at me made by one of the panelists who said: "The known reserves of oil in Iraq are five times what records show them to be, which makes Iraq's oil reserves 50% larger than those in Saudi Arabia (paraphrased by me)."

A number of other very optimistic claims were also made by this same panelist who suggested that the U.S. could have given Iraqis free money of $50.00 per capita per month and been financially way ahead of what we have spent so far on executing the war. He also suggested that Iraq has six (6) vital categories of natural resources unique to any one country in the middle east that makes Iraq one of the best investment potentials in the world and if properly managed offers a 10 fold increase in GDP for Iraq over the next five years (from $25 Billion now to $250 Billion in five years).

If you know of a link to the transcripts please post here. Thanks.
