Some people think denial is a moral value
This is a letter from the LA Times from today, and my response to it. I know there are a lot of people like this, but I just don't understand why.

snip
His (Kerry) woeful record during 20 years in the Senate, not sponsoring a single significant piece of legislation and not bothering to show up for three-fourth of Intelligence Committee meetings, proves that he lacks the leadership ability to be a team captain, much less president of the United States.

John Tintle
Nipomo, Ca.

Oh, he has those talking points memorized, doesn't he?

Here is my letter, in response (it better get published!)

I cannot detail Senator Kerry's record here, but if you have access to one of the Internets, you will have no trouble finding his 4,786 bills and amendments, of which at least 85 have been signed into law. Most notably, he launched the investigation into Iran-Contra. And he didn't make a lot of Democrats happy when he initiated the downfall of BCCI (the Democratic Party used the bank for fund raising activities) and he and John McCain assured us there were no PO W's in Vietnam.
What IS woeful, Mr. Tintle, is that during these same years, your candidate was unable to find oil in Texas, is in bed (as is his father) with the Saudi Royal Family who aided and supported the terrorists responsible for September 11, 2001(also, 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi) and , as a Texas Governor who could make jokes about frying prisoners, does not agonize over the decision to send our young men and women into battle-or over denying them medical care when they are injured.
You, sir, can follow this 'stay-the-course' war president in lock-step if you choose but your denial of the truth has you blinded to the cliff up ahead.

1. Some people think denial is a river.
Cross them off and move on.
