7. Ya this Mary Chaney crap is really annoying.

Urgh the entire thing bothers me on so many levels. Time to rant! As a gay male, (does that make me more credible on this post?) I saw nothing wrong with what Kerry said. OK, let's break it down here. First of all, everyone who hasn't been living under a rock for all these years knows that Mary Chaney is of the plaid shirts and power tools persuasion so it's not like he outed her! Secondly, everyone knows who Mary Chaney is! They're claiming that they're offended because Kerry should have left politicians' children out of political debates. Have you seen Mary Chaney? That thing is not a child. Also, isn't she working on the Bush camp. herself? If her family already put her out there in the field for their own political gain then she's fair game for Kerry too. And last but not least, when Kerry mentioned her, it's not like she was irrelivant to what he was talking about. It's not like he mentioned her to tarnish her name. He used her cause she was a familiar figure and a fitting example of what he was talking about. He was being empathetic and sympathetic towards the entire subject. It's not like he was condeming her! What happened would be the equivelant of black people getting mad at Kerry if he mentioned a known black person and stated that the person is black. The entire thing is practically as ridiculous as the following fabricated scenario:

KERRY:

"...and if you ask Bush, cause I mean..Bush is human, he'd tell you that choking on a pretsel is really easy..."


REPUBLICAN BEEHOCH WITH HAIR THE SIZE OF TEXAS:

"O MY GOD, I can't believe that he called Bush human! That is over the line and totally unacceptable! Nevermind that fact that Bush IS human and all Kerry did was state something that's already known. Nevermind the fact that my head is so far up my a$$'s glory choco-hole that I'm practically feeling my ovaries on my nose. At this point, we've run out of things to screw up Kerry's image with so we're gonna
jump at anything he says even if it's not questionable!"



Sigh..then entire thing goes to show that a lot of Americans are still so uncomfortable with homosexuality that they don't know how to
act around it. They run around like clueless idiots once the topic is mentioned and point fingers, make a fuss and blame others almost as if they're washing their hands clean from the entire mess because they don't know how to react to it.

Mary Chaney's mom was on TV saying that Kerry was "a bad bad man" for saying what he said and that it was "a cheap political shot". Oh really Mrs. Dick Chaney's erection compartment? He's a bad man? Just because he mentioned what your daughter is? Because he rubbed your "painful truth" in your face?

The only reason that I can think of as to why the Chaney's are upset over this would be because the family itself is unaccepting and shamefull when it comes to Mary's sexuality.
