Anyone know what kind of crowds Nader is getting?
I seem to remember that his crowd numbers have been pretty paltry, and sometimes not even hitting a hundred.

I haven't heard how he's doing lately, and certainly no live reports, only that the pundits keep trying to tell us he's hurting Kerry and is polling anywhere from 2-5%. I just find it hard to believe these poll numbers, when it is likely that the Libertarian candidate is speaking to the same size crowds as Nader.

Can anyone add to this mystery? How is it that Nader is drawing votes in these polls, but, not drawing any crowds for campaign rallies like he did in 2000?

2. Who is Nader?
Maybe we could go to his rallies, with "Republicans for Nader" signs.

3. How's he doing for money?
The cost of travel, getting on the various ballots around the country, etc must add up to some big numbers. Who's funding it all (aside from sympathetic rethugs).

4. I suspect that people answer "Nader" in the polls just to be contrary
They know it does not count, so they make a statement.

5. What kind of crowds? Republicans...
About the only people supporting Nader this time are pukes who want to shave votes away from Kerry... but as our esteemed President observed:

"Fool me once, shame... shame on you... fool me... you can't get fooled again."

12. Leave Nader alone
It's pretty sad to see you guys denigrate Nader when the man's been fighting seflessly for the American people for over 40 years. Portraying him as a Republican operative for exercising his constituional right to run for President is also pretty absurd, considering both major parties receive millions from both Democrat and Republican fatcats. I'm voting for Kerry, don't get me wrong, but I really don't understand where all this anti-Nader hysteria is coming from.

13. Then you haven't been paying attention.
"fighting seflessly for the American people for over 40 years"?
What has he done for us lately? Oh, yeah, he saved us from Al gore, that's right...

His gimmicks disgust me. He's "for the little guy", but he pays his "Nader's Raiders" SHIT wages, if he pays them at all. His stock portfolio is FULL of stock in the same companies he "fights" against (lookitup. Use Google)

He uses the Televangelist trick of putting everything he owns in the name of other entities, so he can say "Look at me, I'm POOR! I even wear shitty-looking suits!"

And then he NO problem letting the GOP give him money and dubious signatures for his "campaign".

And speaking of his campaign, what, other than "I'm not like those other guys" does Nader stand for? All I ever hear about him ia "The Dems and GOP are corrupt, and there's no difference between them. I'm different..."

Yeah, well, the guy here in town I call "Onion John" is "different", too. But I sure as hell don't want HIM for President.

And FINALLY...Did you see that this place is called "Democratic Underground", not "Leftist/Progressive/Green Underground"? John Kerry is our party's candidate, not Ralph Nader. Nader is crawling against Kerry. Why should i have any respect for my opponent? Next I suppose you'll be reprimanding us for calling Bush "Bushler".

Enjoy your stay, I predict it'll be a short one.

14. Nader saved us from Al Gore! That's priceless and to the point!
Nader should've kept to consumer activism, now it's just about ego.

18. I'm not attacking Nader. I'm saying that the media is LYING about the poll
numbers and doing it for a reason.

A little comprehension would have prevented your outrage.

17. There is no mystery. It is just a part of the GOP propaganda
machine to make it appear as though he is a threat. They are hoping to siphon off even a few votes for Nadar. It's part of their comprehensive voter fraud package.
