Police officer who suffocated a 20 year old
I don't know if anyone else has followed this case--but it was just terrible--a 20 year old man was suffocated by 2 police officers--they covered his head with a biohazard bag and he could not breath. I have heard tape of him pleading with them--saying that he could not breathe--they were incredibly callus in responding to him--as he struggled for his last breaths the cops keep snearing at him.

This article is very pro-cop (and not very sympathetic to the victim--there are accounts that are heart rendering)--but I linked to this story because is the most recent and it shows that the cops were cleared of everything and are going back to work!

This was a horrible crime and in my opinion these cops are MURDERERS. Please please DUers--I beg you to read about this poor young man who was murdered and join me in writing letters to this police department, to editors and anyone who will listen to us. I assume that these cops won't be prosecuted now--but perhaps if we make noise the department will not return them to duty where they can brutalize more innocent people.

1. Pigs.

"# Lack of uniformity of devices among law enforcement such that none of the four other officers at the scene recognized the hood used because they all use different variations of the same device. Such lack of awareness made it unlikely that any officer trained in similar equipment would recognize and correct the improper utilization of this device.
# Improper application and use of the hood on a prisoner"

I suppose the guy flailing around desperately trying to breathe isn't a strong enough indicator that something might have been wrong.

2. They ARE Murderers.
Any judge who would let this go unpunished should stand trial as well.
This story reminds me of the tragedy in Iowa City several years ago where an Officer Gillespe shot and killed a business owner in his own place of business. The victim didn't have a weapon and was just at the office doing paperwork. Gillespe entered the building, got scared, drew his weapon and fired on the businessman. Gillespe wasn't charged with a crime. So much for Iowa City being the godless Liberal capitol of the midwest. We've got killer cops here too.

4. I don't understand how this cop...
could be cleared of prosecution. Clearly, what he did caused the victim to die.

5. At least the family will break their bank
OJ simpson got busted in the civil courts as well... it seems
that crime has been reduced to money, and murder is OK as long
as its paid for.... geez... :eyesroll:

The police men who murdered that kid should be treated like any
other murderers... i can't believe they let them off... wow, how
totally and utterly sick.... fucking police assholes.

6. Amazing. Prosecution is "not warranted" .
Think the judge would bend over that far to find a reason for prosecuting you? Those reasons are pathetic.
