Looking for Jon Stewart's 9/11 commentary clip
The first show back on the air after 9/11, Jon gave the most heartfelt and patriotic talk about his personal experience.... anyone know where I can find a clip ?

1. You know, I was just going to post the exact same question!
I used to have a link, but not any more...

I agree, it was one of the most heartfelt things I have ever witnessed. Jon was clearly crying during his opening remarks. He ended with a very hopeful comment about how when he looks out his window, post 9/11, he now has a view of the Statue of Liberty.
I hope somebody has a link. It was another big feather in Jon's hat.

5. i will never forget that episode
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 01:46 PM by meganmonkey
my roommate at the time had TiVo so we saved it and watched it over and over.
Edit: i just watched it again (thanks for the link) and it is still so emotional to see -
(warning: i'm about to get real cheesy)
- it kinda brought me back down to earth, i've been hanging out here at DU for only a couple weeks and it has been fantastic for me, but as much as it has given me a sense of community and understanding, it has also given me a forum to read and participate in a lot of sarcasm and people-bashing. which to some extent can be relieving, but i don't want to lose compassion and i don't want to give up on humanity. i have been feeling kinda depressed lately and i really think it's because i'm letting the hatred creep in. this video reminds me that we have to rise above the hatred and do this from our hearts.
(i am now stepping down from my soapbox)

6. I watched that over and over
because it made me feel better.

Can anyone imagine Tucker the Tool being so eloquent? Jon was right to call him a partisan hack.
