Shall we conspiracy theorize for a moment?
Bush has serious medical problems. He's wearing SOMETHING on his back at all times, perhaps a lifesaving device of some sort. He has refused to take a physical this year, so the American public cannot know the physical condition of our president.

So, assuming * "wins" the election, here's something to consider:

  1. Bush bows out after a few months citing serious medical concerns.
  2. Cheney completes *'s 2nd term in office. Not a huge stretch, as he's been running the country for 4 years anyway.
  3. Cheney selects a strong, youthful, appealing, semi-moderate-but-easily-controlled repuke as VP.
  4. PNAC uses their new VP to try to coast to victory in 2008.

I don't take anything I say seriously, but I thought it would be fun.

1. I dunno about that . . . I still like John Edwards take on it . . .
"it's Bush's battery pack," said John Edwards this week on Jay Leno.

. . . . .

2. Interesting speculation
And it could be right on the money. I think it's a given that Bush is ill--physically? mentally? Any will do. He's ready to implode.

3. I think you are on to something ...
at least with points 1 & 2. It was suggested that the "bulge" is a heart monitor - and he looks like hell. Cheney is smart, but certainly not remotely likable. This is his only shot.

4. POssibly but it is a stretch. Let's toss around names for Cheney's VP. Who
would he pick, knowing that whoever it was would have to challenge John McCain in 2008?

Jeb Bush?

7. Ralph Reed would be Dick's veep.
Don't laugh. Think about it. Look at the asshole he's paired with right now. Is it such a stretch?
