O.M.G. - The Guardian: "Sex scandal dogs Fox star ". Must, must read.

Wow, this article makes O'Reilly look like a whiny, pathetic, little weenie. The kind of man that every woman in the world, when O'Reilly's name is mentioned, puts her hand to her face to keep her mocking, knowing smile from showing. The kind of guy that thinks he is God's gift to women, but who in reality is the guy that women laugh about when they talk to each other at times when there are no men in earshot.

O'Reilly is bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase "republican family values".

What a sad, hypocritical little fella.

Ed Helmore in New York
Sunday October 17, 2004
The Observer

snip----
O'Reilly, who is 55 and married, has not directly denied the conversations, but has said that the lawsuit may ruin his career. 'If I have to go down, I'm willing to do it. But I've got to make a stand.'
snip------
What O'Reilly did - according to the suit - was repeatedly proposition Mackris. In the conversations recorded by Mackris, he allegedly suggests that she buy a vibrator, boasts of teaching women to masturbate, discusses what kind of sex they should have and launches into 'a vile and degrading monologue'.
snip----
O'Reilly allegedly told Mackris that every woman owned a vibrator. Mackris insisted that she did not, and shot back: 'Does your wife?'

'Yes, in fact she does,' O'Reilly replied, according to court papers. 'She'd kill me if she knew I was telling you.' According to the suit, O'Reilly threatened Mackris. He is alleged to have said: 'If you cross Fox News Channel, it's not just me, it's Roger Ailes who will go after you.' He claimed Ailes knew powerful people 'all the way to the top'. When Mackris asked, 'To the top of what?', O'Reilly replied: 'Top of the country.'

And this is on tape? If O'Reilly had any dignity whatsoever he would just shut up and quietly move somewhere out of the country where no one knows him.

anything that remotely involved O'Reilly...but if this woman has him on tape making references to Bush...then I am thrilled!

4. Check out this little tidbit that i hadnt thought about

The fact that O'Reilly and Fox News filed only civil claims of extortion and did not seek a criminal investigation shows weakness in their case, lawyers said.

"If you feel you have a strong case for extortion and you want to put the other side on the defensive, you would immediately call up the district attorney's office and tell them go out and arrest these people," said Peter DeFilippis, a noted litigator.

14. And, of course, for the NON-paranoid, non bullies of the world
what they're calling "extortion" is typically referred to as negotiations. Jerks.

5. What goes around, comes around

9. I'm wondering how Sunday's going
at the O'Really compound. Somehow, I'm thinking "not well".

>O'Reilly allegedly told Mackris that every woman owned a vibrator. Mackris insisted that she did not, and shot back: 'Does your wife?'
'Yes, in fact she does,' O'Reilly replied, according to court papers. 'She'd kill me if she knew I was telling you.'<

I'll bet Mrs. O'Really waited her entire life to discover that her husband is incomprehensibly stupid. Not only has her husband compromised the safety of their family's financial stability with the stupidity it takes to make repeated sexual advances in the workplace towards a woman who repeatedly told him of her disinterest in his attentions, he's now compromised her privacy as well. He has made the most intimate information about her public due to his utter disregard.

If she doesn't file for divorce, she's lost her mind. My sympathies are with her and their child, who doesn't deserve the buffoon she's fathered by.

16. Dignity? His Denial Is SO THICK! So, If Taping Is Illegal
without consent, would the plaintiff go to jail and O'LIELLY get the case against him dismissed? At least the tapes would settle the public mind against him.

its no surprise to many of us. If you've ever been sexually harassed you learn to recognize his type -- middle aged white guy, frustrated windbag , full of himself, with no moral core.

20. Isn't this the truth!! Having been propositioned a number of times
by such assholes when I was younger, I can attest to the truth of this. These guys, when they should be working, are jerking off under their desks to their latest favorite picture, taken by the hidden camera in the women's restroom. It's a wonder women even give men the time of day anymore.

22. Shit. He told me I ought to send in a resume once.
EWWW.

Ever have one of those times when something just came at your face (figuratively speaking, I mean) like a big fat hand, palm out, to STOP you from proceeding? It's just this really strong feeling you get. From where, I do NOT know.

I had to interview this guy one time, back when he hosted his earlier show. Before the Pox "news" network, I'm blanking at the moment. But he was already making noise and more people knew who he was and so I figured it might be interesting to get tape with him. It turned out to be a run-of-the-mill interview, and certainly nothing tipped its hand about anything REMOTELY like this. It was at a restaurant in West Hollywood, and there was a publicist there at the same table.

So at the end of it, we're chit-chatting as I'm putting my tape recorder away and we're talking about jobs in the news business and he suggests I send my resume in.

I never did follow up on that. Don't know why, except it just didn't feel like something that I really did want to follow up on. I didn't see any reason to switch jobs. I liked my own well enough - or at least, better than the idea of working for/him. Just didn't seem like a likeable guy to have to work with Monday through Friday. I have nothing else to base it on. Could NOT have forseen anything like this.

27. Well, I am not surprised at the least.
For one, O'Reilly would invite porn stars and such to his show and lecture them. Did he really fool anyone that he wanted to lecture them to turn them onto the right path? LOL.
He must have been getting his trills from having those ladies on his show.
Hypocrisy-your name is O'Reilly.
LOL.
