"How will we pay for it?" |
|
I become ill of hearing this question asked by mousy reporters, newspaper columnists and right wing politicians everytime a Democratic politician or candidate calls for new domestic programs. We are expected to provide in full detail how much money it will cost and where the money will come from.
Yet when the other side calls for a war or a military buildup, those of us who ask how much money it will cost or how it will be paid for are told to shut up. We are called unpatriotic for even asking such questions. Nor does the media seem to care much. Somehow when it comes to wars and military spending such questions are considered inappropriate.

1. the war was supposed to pay for itself, with oil revenues |

anyone else would call invading a country to take their oil "theft".

2. the party of $450,000,000,000 deficits has NO RIGHT to ask such questions! |
|
even if you buy the crap that all that spending was necessary, efficient, and not shrub's fault, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.
just like in your own household. you try to save money, but if unexpected medical bills and/or unemployment happens, then you might have to rack up some debt. BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. and you ALWAYS need a plan for it.
the shrubbies never discuss paying for ANYTHING they do. "it's your money", they say, and now, guess what, it's you debt, too.
ask shrub how he's paying for his insane deficits first, then we'll talk about kerry's plan.
