Molly Ivins: We cannot wait til we win --
to have a good time.

And she had some wonderful examples of having FUN while being an activist (C-Span2, Booknotes, currently as I write this in Q&A).

And she ended her talk by telling a story about a very bright lawyer she knew, bright enough to have been anything he wanted, who nevertheless spent his life "Freedom Fighting" wondering what he should tell the people when he accepted some award or another he was being given. The advice he got was: "Tell them how much FUN you had. Tell them how much FUN it was doing the right thing."

Molly suggested we all need to be able to tell the young people coming up how much FUN it is (can be) doing the right thing.

I think she's right. Who was it who said, "I don't want to join any revolution if I can't dance."

1. Emma Goldman
She said "I don't want to join any revolution if I can't dance."

Naturally, the Right vilifies her.
