8. Unfortunately,
after Cyhntia failed to repudiate her father's anti-semitic remarks, she has as good a chance of being elected president as Osama Bin Ladin.

4. Here's a wild theory
The GOP pushes through an amendment (let's call it the Arnold amendment) that allows foreign born citizens the right to run for President.

They then watch Jennifer Granholm become the first female President of the United States.

5. I'd vote for her....
But I would like to see Blance Lambert Lincoln run...she seems like a dynamite politician who could get red state support...I was hoping she'd get the VP slot this year, not that I'm complaining about JE, but I think there are some great women senators out there who'd be great, and I'm hoping to see one on the ticket the next time around

She is caring, compassionate, smart and beautiful.

Seriously though I don't think it would be any of those although Ann Richards has my vote.

28. Thanks Mopaul
I hope to raise her to be a free thinking individual, be reflective, compassionate, but at the same time know when to fight. And yes, you are correct, she not only could beat Shrub in a debate, she could, as of now, be a better president. I'll be the regent. :)

21. Only if they run together....
If either of them runs alone, she will have no chance of winning.

13. This country is far too immature for a female president
Hillary wouldn't stand a chance. She's too much of a warmonger anyway.

I'd vote for most of the others on the list, but can't abide Hilary. Never could. I wouldn't vote for that corporatist witch Feinstein either.

18. I suspect it's "other."
It'll have to be someone who combines Oprah's universal appeal and Hillary Clinton's workhorse approach. It'll have to be someone who appeals to voters in the middle -- no divisive approach here.

Unfortunately, I think our country is still rather immature politically in a great many senses. It depressed me to hear a friend from the South say that she thought the fact that Joe Lieberman is Jewish hurt the Democratic ticket there -- this from someone who lived in a small Southern town with a Jewish mayor. And there are still enough extremists out there (I know more than a few of them) who really do believe that Hillary Clinton will personally come to their house to cut off their testicles if she wins the presidency.

I'm not saying any of those attitudes are right. It's just what we're up against.

25. Neither can I, but you never know where kids will go when they grow up
Once you hit 35 you're eligible to run for President.

Here's my favorite recent imponderable: 40 years from now there will be millions of old ladies with tattoos.

26. I love the irony of Granholm winning
after the GOP pushed through the Arnie amendment. I think she would win.

I don't think we will have a female President for at least 10, probably 20, years. Look at this campaign. We all talk about how Kerry is taller and more Presidential. Who's more tough and macho. Who was in the military. The rhetoric about terroism and war has hurt women's chances to be President.

I think Chelsea Clinton may be able to win the Presidency in 20 years. She can tap her parents funding base, she has charm, she has the ability to ignore the media hype. Let's see if she wants it.

27. Christine Todd Whitman
The Bushies lose - BAD - and the old GOP alliance will crumble. Neocons and fundies will go their separate ways. She could lead a new party of moderate, economically rational Republicans.
