Let's slaughter NBC on this "jet fuel/diesel" theory
In the Helicopter Crash thread I pointed out that the military no longer uses a "ground fuel" and an "aviation fuel"--they use one fuel, JP-8.

http://www.autonews.com/article.cms?articleId=43091

Officially called MIL-T-83133, Fuel, Aviation Turbine Engine, JP-8 is the Holy Grail to a logistician. Instead of having to haul Motor Gasoline (mogas), Kerosene, Diesel DF-2, Jet Fuel JP-4, Naval Jet Fuel JP-5 and whatever else someone might need for the particular system they're running, they just take Jet Fuel JP-8 to the woods and put it in everything that doesn't require gasoline, and there's not much of that equipment left.

Read that closely, friends: There Is No Other Fuel In Theatre. There Is Only JP-8.

Which means they couldn't have 'contaminated' the JP-8 by not scrubbing out a tanker that used to contain JP-8 before putting fresh JP-8 in it, and NBC is whoring for someone over there, or in DC.

The question is, who?

1. Every damn last one of 'them', that's who. The generals, the bush*
administration (I saw to it that they had what they need), the Pentagon, everyone.

This is ugly, sitting in the middle of a war zone and don't have the proper fuel.

Rommel went down that way too.

2. I thought the soldiers said water was in the fuel.
Did I get that wrong?

3. There is "other" fuel in theater.
I just returned from Iraq last Dec. hauling fuel from the same camp that these reservists are at. It's called Cedar II. It's the main fuel point in Southern Iraq. The vast majority of fuel in theater is JP-8, but there are requirements for Mo-Gas and Diesel. We had 56 tankers, all hauled JP-8 except for the following.
2 - Water
6 - Mo-Gas

The DF-2 tanker's we had were taken to Arifjan (Kuwait) to be purged in order to haul JP-8. It is possible to inadvertently "mix" fuel, it rarely happens because the tankers are clearly marked with the fuel type they are intended to haul.

8. Thanks for the information on that
I heard the father of one of the soldiers on a morning talk show and he was adamant that his son said that the tanker had not been purged and that the fuel was contaminated.

12. I just found this interesting item
http://www.mvoil.com/products.htm

These guys offer a "winter blend" diesel, which is diesel with kerosene stirred into it.

JP-8 is kerosene.

If NBC is completely correct that someone took a diesel tanker that had carried JP-8 at one time, filled it with DF-2 without purging all of the JP-8 from it, and tried bringing it to a unit somewhere, the receiving unit would accept the fuel--If It Wasn't Contaminated By Water. A DF-2 user wouldn't notice much if any difference by using this blend.

You wouldn't want to pump this stuff into a fuel bladder that was half-full of JP-8 (especially if you were servicing an airfield!) but you could run it in a ground vehicle, no problem.

I still say NBC is full of shit.

4. So we conclude JP8 is not being used - so will media ask why not?

6. Does HALLIBURTON Supply the Fuel?
If HALLIBURTON is killing our troops with bunk fuel
that is, at a minimum, the most reckless form of negligence.
If they did it knowingly, it is treason.

10. Halliburton Supplies Fuel, Sir
They over-charge for it, and they water it to extend the scope of their theft by volume....

"Profiteers are to be shot."

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

11. For the same price they even ship "sailboat fuel".......
.....:(

Shooting war profiteers seems a tad too tidy IMHO since their war is so untidy and all.

I vote we send them all to Iraq with no protective gear and give them each a Geiger counter, a pair of tweezers, and a bucket. Make them clean up every last particle of Depleted Uranium released by our DU rounds and every speck of nuclear material looted from Iraq's nuclear facilities after the war started.

Did I mention that they should all be wearing T-shirts with "I love George Bush*!" on the front and "Jesus kicks Allah's ASS!" on the rear? :)

9. We're headed for a disaster.
There's going to be a massacre of a unit someplace in Iraq thanks to the Bush's incompetence. Mark my words something bad is going to happen within a month or two after Kerry takes over. Our guys are going to get overrun. They're going to be hung from lampposts or beheaded by the tens maybe even hundreds. I'm just getting an awful feeling about the way this is going.
