McLaughlin? Does anyone watch that show? |
|
I watched yesterday because I got sick of CNN and we don't get MSNBC or FOX??
He can really pin those guys down until he gets an answer. Wish to hell the assholes on CNN would do the same.
He really got Pat Buchanan's goat yesterday on homosexuality...whether he thought it was a natural thing or not. He hemmed and hawed saying it was both Nature and Nurture. BS. It's genetic. When are these fools gonna ever learn that people do not choose their sexuality? Loved it...the way McLaughlin pressed him and Tony Blakely for specific answers to his questions.
BTW, who remembers Tony Blakely from Clinton days when he was skewering him all the time and singing the praises of Newt...I think? His voice certainly has changed a lot since those days. I could never figure out if he had a British accent; a speech impediment, a New England accent or just affectation. Now he doesn't have that it? What happened? Anyone else noticed this?

I've been avoiding it all on purpose, but I too found it interesting. He took no shit from anyone. And it was a good discussion. He also let them engage each other. Lawrence O'Donnell was great on the lesbian thing vs. Pat and Tony. I may tune in again.

2. I've been watching McLaughlin for decades. |

The show is always fascinating, and John McLaughlin is an old-school Republicans and a decent person.

3. It's actually my favorite Sunday morning show |
|
He's an old style conservative, but I think there's decent substance to the show in spite of the shouting. Blankely is a total ass, and he gets called on it every show. I also appreciate that he gives total war casualties every week, including mental illness and Iraqi civilians.

4. Buchanan, to his credit |
|
is consistent on this position, even though he tries to avoid it, since no one else likes it. he says, basically, that Homoesxuality is a function of nature and nurture (mariganal, but at least an acknowledgement of nature) but that acting on the impulse is a sin.
Then again, he believes (or says) that all sex outside of marriage is a sin, and since homosexuals can't get married, QED.
he's still an asshole, but he doesn't try to have it both ways. And McLaughlin skewered both him and Blankely on this
