Republicans — 87 percent; Democrats — 76 percent

Well, of course that's the case. Republicans are thoroughly self-centered and self-righteous, so they can totally concentrate on their own pleasure and not worry about poor people and rising heating-oil prices and all the men and women dying and being wounded in Iraq and health-care costs and the fact that the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

Seriously, if this poll were true (like I say, all polls this election season are BULLSHIT -- don't listen to them!) it would be because Democrats are so outwardly focused -- they're so worried about our country and our democracy that they can't concentrate on having a good time.

It's easy to be satisfied with one's sex life if expectations/desires are only for plain-vanilla sex, missionary position, in bed, infrequent, of short duration, in the dark, never seeing each other naked, always exactly the same.

a) of course men are more likely to say they are satisfied. They'd be too embarrassed to say that they aren't, and it's a whole lot easier for a man to be satisfied than for a woman to be.
