If you live in Orange Count, CA, you may not be registered LAST DAY |
|
Groups with neutral sounding names but working for the Republican Party appear to only be turning in the Republican registrations the collect according to a variety of sources. Also, people at Republican voter registration tables have been witnessed tearing up stacks of registration forms.
So, if you live in Orange County or any other county in California and have recently registered, check to make sure your registration was turned in. Most registrars will tell you over the phone.
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY IN CALIFORNIA. SOME REGISTRARS ARE STAYING OPEN LATE - SO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE TO VOTE.

If I see one more Republican registering table in the Laguna Hills Mall, I'll crack.

Where did you hear this?
I volunteered to register voters this last Saturday. We set our table up near a B/C registration table. The guy at the their table was a democrat, paid $6 per registration form filled out, so I would guess he's not tearing them up.
All the democrats at tables in south orange county were volunteers...seems odd in a heavily republican area that the republican registration tables used paid workers. They aren't getting volunteers?
I signed up one republican who is voting for Kerry and talked to several more. Saw only one undecided. Number of democrats I talked to who are voting for Bush: ZERO. Got a surprising number of positive comments in this very wealthy, CEO-type area and got only a couple of hostile comments.
Many, many people who walked by said they have already voted.
Lesson which I needed to learn: If you ignore the polls, use common sense, listen to the annecdotal evidence, and talk to people, you can't help but think Kerry is going to run away with a landslide.
