5. Lovely. I'm about to move into a house with oil heat.
I guess that's what I have to look forward to. I'll be using my fireplace a lot this winter...

10. Well, Id still rather have oil than gas...
See, what happens here in Philly with PGW (The gas company), is that those of us who do pay out bills get our prices jacked, to make up for the population of philly that doesnt pay their bills.

Last winter, my neighbor's monthly gas bill was $500/month!!!

13. For me....
the highest I paid last year was 1.29/gal...lowest was 1.19. Today we start at 1.89/gal. We have a propane fireplace but that is just as expensive...I like the BC sign idea maybe I should start driving around... but not very many of those here in VT.

19. wow, so you guys are paying 30-40% more than
last year already. And it's possible that fuel prices could go up another 20-30% or more. If this turns out to be a cold winter I'm sensing disastrous holiday retail sales.

Living in SoCal, heating means making sure the pilot is lit.

and when i asked them about it, I got the same response, "No. The price fluctuates too much and we' be out of business."
