Another dimension to the Texas redistricting scandal
The Supreme court has rued that the lower court should reconsider its ruling on the legality of Texas redistricting effort by bug man and the Texas thugs.

That would seem to be good news right? Wrong. The ruling will have no effect on the current election, nor could it. So what is the significance of the ruling? It effectively freezes any furure attempt by Democrats to do the same thing.

So if you can follow this, the way the redistricting was done is in limbo until after the election. If the thugs win, its becomes legal again, if the dems win then its clearly illegal.

Is my tin hat on too tight?

1. The same three-judge panel
that established the boundaries -- when the Lege couldn't agree after the 2000 census -- gets to do so again, probably restoring some sanity and in time for the 2006 elections.
