One of the great insights I.F.Stone had about our Press and its |
|
toadying up to power was ( I am paraphrasing),their self censorship and attribution of extraordinary powers to the powerful, ensures that they never need dine alone in Washington, D.C.Today, this applies to any well known print or broadcast "journalist".The more successful they are the more apt this description becomes.
May be we should simply call them propagandists and dispense with the myth they are real journalists.

3. Corporate Media is one of the biggest dangers to Democracy |

in my opinion. they are appologists for the power brokers and it seems to have become more blatent in the last decade. We need to pressure congress to break up the corporate strangle hold by so few who own the major media outlets.
As individuals we need to find and support independant news sources.
