Who Was Bush's Driver?
Bu$h ran for a Texas Congressional seat in the fall of 1977 and lost. In August of 1977 he went to a friend's home and there met Laura. However, in late October of 1977 Bu$h's driver's license was revoked for a DUI, it remained revoked until late July of 1978. So you have to wonder, who drove him around when he was making his failed bid for Congress and who was driving him all over town so the boy/child could attend to his social life during those two years?

I recall that in the 3rd debate bush said a friend, who was having a Bar-B-Q, invited him over to meet Laura. As I recall Bu$h's response was "so I bopped over there ...." Somehow I doubt that the boy walked .....

2. Probably did what my father
the good Republican tried to do when he lost his license for a DUI. He lived in Vermont, I lived in New Hampshire. He called me up asking if he could use MY address to get a NH licence.

I told him no, it was unethical and I couldn't believe he was asking me to do such a thing and what the hell would he have said to me if I had asked the same of him.

Bunch of hypocrites, all of them.

4. oh come on, you know he still drove, license or not
he is much too arrogant to let something like a license revocation interfere with his partying.

5. In F/9-11 there is footage of him driving himself
he is interviewed in the car while driving.

Laura also talks about him driving her from campaign stop to campaign stop. He drove his little self.

7. I bet that is WHY he lost the race after having a LARGE lead !!
Edited on Tue Oct-19-04 09:53 AM by T Bone
I recently saw a show on tv paralelling the lives of Kerry/Bu$h. They mention that race comparing it to Kerry's first failed run for Congress. It is funny, in an ad from the race they show a$$wipe* driving around dusty Texass alone in his car !! Campainin'. ya know.

I also remember from the show that they talked about him having a LARGE EARLY LEAD and then LOSING the lead and the race. BUT NEVER A MENTION OF THE DUI !!!!!!! Which shows how he is protected.

But, you just gotta know that in a Texas congressional race if someone gets a DUI it makes it around the district !! That has to be why he lost the lead and the race then.

I forget what lame reason they say he lost the big early lead, but I thought at the time, they are certainly not explaining what factors caused him to fall out of the lead.

8. Is this part of the reason he got a new license when he became guv ?
Remeber how it is said that he has a newly minted TX driver's license the day he took office as governor? I wonder if this DUI had anything to do with THAT? I bet it did. Maybe they didn't want people to put 2+2 together and see that in that congressional campaign he was driving around on an suspended license?

9. What Occured To Me
When I saw that the fool had got himself a DUI it occured to me that maybe he had lost his license about the time he was supposed to be in Alabama. If that was the case he would have had to have someone drive him to the drills, and if he couldn't name that person ... Well, its not a name you'd be likely to forget. But then I saw that the son of a bitch was about 30 when he got the DUI. Most folks act like they have some sense by the time their 30. This wasn't some foolish kid, this was a seasoned drunk that finally got caught.

11. Maybe Laura's vehicular manslaughter was what attracted him?
In Smirk's propaganda video, he's filmed driving through West Texas while campaigning for the House. I wonder what day that was. (Hmmm...)
