The Debt Tax
Anytime someone says "but I got a tax cut under Bush*" reply with the Debt Tax. The interest on our national debt is more than our entire Defense budget and that is with the lowest rates in a half a century. It is still more than the tax cut Bush* gave. Interest rates will go up. The Debt Tax will climb and climb. Also it contributes to State costs rising such as Property Tax and higher "User fees" like licensing fees and local taxes. The Debt Tax....it is real.

2. I Can't Understand Why Intelligent People Don't Get This
There are only five big items in the federal budget:

Social Security, Medicare, Military, Military Pensions, and Debt Payments

Any proposal to cut expenses which ignores these areas is smoke and mirrors. And Debt is the one thing that can cannot simply be cut by legislation.

3. gas $2+/gallon
is another "tax" and raises the price of everything you buy. It takes money "out of your pocket" just as much as a government tax does, but with NO benefit to society.

8. I sent BartCop an email advising him of such
Didn't even catch myself. Funny how you "fix" things in your mind when you know what the author means.

10. If Bush* wanted to give a real tax break he would have paid down debt
Think what we could do with that five hundred billion dollars every year that is just eaten up in interest. America would have received a true tax break as they did under Clinton if Bush* had kept his promises.
