Is O'Leilly married?
If he is, that would make this sex scandal so much worse.

A guy on Olbermann said that if the audio tapes exist... O'Reilly is done for. Career gone forever.

6. O'Reilly is being sued for sexual harrassment
from a female Fox producer.

The full legal document is on thesmokinggun.com and you can read some of the perverted shit he said to her. Word on the street is that she has audio tapes.

He has countered-sued her for extortion (claiming she was trying to blackmail him) but what's funny is that you can't blackmail someone for something they did not do.

He has not denied the charges.

10. The tapes must exist
because he's worming his way toward admitting he's a letch:
CALLER: One quick thing. My money's on your side in this unfortunate lawsuit you're going through.

O'REILLY: Well, thank you. I appreciate that.

CALLER: You gotta take Sister Mary Peters with you when you're with single women.

O'REILLY: Listen, I have to say this -- I had to protect my family, this is my fault. I was stupid, and I'm not a victim, but I can't allow certain things to happen. And I appreciate your support, we get thousands of letters, but I'm not -- I am stupid. I am a stupid guy, and every guy listening knows how it is. That we are very stupid at times.

But there comes a time in life where you gotta stand and fight. And I knew these people were gonna do this, I knew they were gonna do everything they could to try to destroy me and the channel. And I just made the decision that I'm just gonna ride it out. And I'm gonna fight 'em, because what's right is right.

16. Wow, he's basically admitting it there!
Saying he was stupid and he makes mistakes, but he has to stand up and fight (about the money).

So in his world, yeah he did it, it was stupid but to protect his family he had to stand up and counter-sue because she was blackmailing him.

He's totally guilty.
They totally have tapes.
Happy day.

17. I'm not sure Limbaugh is the appropriate analogy
Limbaugh, while employed in a political commentary job and engaged in activity that may very well prove to be criminally illegal, did something that had no direct victims. It's not like Oxycotin is going to file charges. Therefore, the standards that Limbaugh faced in the court of public opinion are different.

This theorem would also force cases involving Clinton, Gingrich, Hyde, Bush 41, Barr, etc., to be non-analogous since, while the spouses were disrespected, these involved consenting adults. However, these cases (the Republican ones) do show that the general public doesn't consider hypocrisy as a significant negative.

There may be an argument to be made for an analogy to Dr. Laura for lying about those photos. But again, no tangible victim.

In this case, there's a victim most likely. Now, looking at political figures who were confronted with sexual harassment, the one that comes to mind first is Bob Packwood. However, as a member of Congress, he faced different standards of ethics than public figures would face in order to regain public acceptance.

Consequently, with O'Reilly being a public figure, the sphere of analogy needs to be widened to public figures beyond those in politics who were involve in criminal activity of a sexual nature.

With that criteria, the two that come to mind first are Marv Albert and Mike Tyson. With Marv Albert, he lost his jobs at NBC and MSG, but eventually got re-employed. Mike Tyson got jail time but then got back into boxing and PPV.

Consequently, I think Fox and O'Reilly will split but after a certain amount of time for public forgiveness, someone will pick him up. Sad.
