Iams response to my email about Sinclair
Lame, I know. But the fact that these advertisers have created template auto-responses tells you we are having an impact.

Dear Sagar:

Thank you for contacting us about Sinclair Broadcast Group's plans to air "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal," a show involving Senator John Kerry.

We haven't reviewed the program content for this show and as a result, haven't provided any advertising support for it.  Since the network has said this is a news program, the preparation is handled entirely by their staff and the selection of content is based solely on their judgment.  Advertisers aren't given the opportunity to review news shows in advance.  If we had been able to review it, one of our guiding advertising principles is that we don't advertise in programs where there is expression for or against a given political candidate.

The way we spend our advertising dollar is important to us.  For most TV programming, we're able to review the content and we do this on a show by show basis before making any advertising sponsorship decisions.  You may see some of our commercials air on the Sinclair Broadcast Group's network during TV series that we've agreed to appear in.

The networks also have control over TV programming and can choose to preempt regularly scheduled programming with different shows, such as this one.

We appreciate your comments and I'm sharing them with those responsible for television sponsorship.

Please contact us anytime through our E-mail Us Now page located on our web sites at www.iams.com or www.eukanuba.com. We would also welcome your call Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time at 800-525-4267.

Sincerely,

Sue

7. Make sure they know it!
What we really want is for advertisers to call Sinclair and threaten to pull ads from Sinclair permanently. So please let the advertisers know that you'll be boycotting their products unless they spend their ad dollars elsewhere. Try to get connected to someone in marketing, even if it's just voicemail. Keep up the good work and we'll see the impact on November 2!!

I guess we know who owns IAMS now, so we are going to have to add P&G to that boycott list!

9. What we need to do now is to make sure that P&G knows that
the boycott will extend to all lines that they produce. If enough people stop buying products like Charmin, Tide, Downy, Pantene, Bounty Towels, etc., they WILL feel the pinch. Even if you only stop buying them for one quarter, you CAN effect them in their domestic gains.

Send them a second email and make sure that they know it's bigger than just Iam.

8. Did you delete "Sue"'s last name?
Or is that how it was signed? Usually, it means their response was outsourced to overseas...
