October 19, 2004 -- CRITICS said it wouldn't happen — but all-liberal WLIB is seriously challenging talk-radio rivals WABC and WOR.

According to Arbitron ratings released yesterday, WLIB thrashed WOR and nipped at the heels of top-dog WABC among the 25- to 54-year-old listeners advertisers chase.

4. I'm up in Orange County, NY and I can hear AAR from New York City

sometimes, depending upon what mountain is in my way. In the morning, I get some station from Indianapolis in instead of AAR.

However, I'm buying an AM booster antenna for my car so I can listen clearly, all the time :)

And the San Diego station's ratings were just released. KLSD is now the #3 AM station in San Diego! The ratings are great!

Granted, a Bush re-election would be good for liberal radio, but I think people will listen regardless of who wins. Liberal talk is just another entertainment choice, for people who like talk radio but can't stand the likes of Limbaugh.

I think the format will do just fine.

Randi Rhodes just announced that AAR's San Diego affiliate, KOSD, has a 6.2 share. With its last format (whatever that was), KOSD didn't even show up in the ratings.

"Nobody wants to hear liberal talk radio!" Yeah, right.

14. AAR will do fine after the election no matter who wins

If Kerry wins, we'll still need to build the think tanks and the movements like Democracy for America.

If Bush wins, we'll be protesting and keeping our watch on all the lies he tells, etc. Plus we'll be building the movement and think tanks.
