Old Time DUers, Was DU hacked back in 2002 by Freepers?

that were also harmless, were the reason you can no longer post scripts in messages here. Somebody else had one that would display information about your system. The script only ran within your system to tell things like what OS you were using and what processor, it was a simple applet that did no harm, but people were (understandably) uncomfortable with it. The FReeper just included a script within postings that would start a popup every time the message was opened. I don't recall having a problem with it, even though I was very active at the time, because of the security settings on my browser -- but I found some messages from back around that time that indicated it did happen.

Please ... the last thing we need to do is hang around DU on 11/2. Go be an "unofficial" poll-watcher. Go up and down your street and offer folks rides to the polls. If they have "I Voted" stickers, give them a piece of Halloween candy and a "Thank you."

There're dozens of things we can do on 11/2 ... so let's just du them.

I was at a meeting Saturday in which both Andrew Young and John Lewis said that this is the most important election of our lifetimes. Coming from them, that means a LOT.

Get out of the house. It is very rewarding. We can get back to DU on Nov. 3 to counter all of their claims that we have stolen the election!
