So Bush will send them to be killed or maimed. But he won't attend their funerals or allow them to be shown in the media, and he won't take care of them when they come home.

This issue, sadly, is not new, but a lot of news sites have picked it up in the last few hours.

1. Amerika...whatta' country!
Only in dysfunctional Republik with mad monkey at the helm could this nonsense be happening. As veteran, I take personal issue with these simpering simians who gleefully screech from the trees, fling excrement at all and sundry and jump up and down with orgiastic abandon at the prospect of profitable carnage....and then become strangely silent when the human cost (1100+ KIA, 8000+ injured in various degrees) is mentioned. Sort of like last days of glorious worker's paradise....reality makes straw huts out of Kremlin and White House walls, all alike...da?

2. In contrast to Saddam Hussein:
Saddam initiated and controlled the "National Campaign for the Eradication of Illiteracy" and the campaign for "Compulsory Free Education in Iraq," and largely under his auspices, the government established universal free schooling up to the highest education levels, supported families of soldiers, granted free hospitalization to everyone, and gave subsidies to farmers. The government also made great progress in building roads, promoting mining, and development of other industries to diversify the oil-dependent economy.

5. This is an issue that BOTH parties blow off.
I wish I could say it was limited to just the asswipe and his fellow GOPiglets, but I can't. VA's have been underfunded for a very long time, and we do an awful job of taking care of our people WHILE they are in the service, let alone out of it.

Thinking back, the soldiers of America have always been screwed-- going back to the Revolutionary War. (They had to surround the meeting of Congress and stick muskets thru the windows to get paid for time served in the militia.)

We need to remember the Bonus March in 1932 and the attack on the Vets' camp in DC. Here's an article about it so you can judge for yourself:

Nor will I get started on the subject of Agent Orange or even Gulf war syndrome...

I'm not surprised it is going on now--but it makes me sad and ashamed of how little this nation values those who have served. They give us everything they have, and they put it on the line in defense of this country. They get nothing except scorn in return.

6. Agreed, but my point was
they didn't make an invasion like this an option.
