Corporate chiefs enjoy bumper year in 2003

Tue Oct 19, 4:33 PM ET U.S. National - AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) - American chief executives enjoyed a lucrative year in 2003, according to an annual survey by a private research group, the Conference Board (news - web sites).

Compensation -- salary, bonuses and long-term payments combined -- advanced in every industry, it said.

Corporate chiefs in the booming construction industry came off best, with a median, or middle-of-the-range, leader enjoying a 19.7-percent jump in compensation to 2.97 million dollars. Only 633,000 dollars of that money was paid in the form of salary.

I thought times were tough????????

BUT no need to raise min wage for the workers....or soc sec getting a 2.7% increase while mediacare goes up 17%

Time to get PISSED ...what more do you need to see ?
