What is the purpose of DU, in your opinion?

I count myself as a 'progressive' Democrat, and I am QUITE sure that non-Democrat Progressives exist: but other than sharing a number of policy positions, what fellowship have we if they, during a crucial vote, cast their lots to the winds of ideology, as if to spite humanity ? .... They KNOW the fate of a Nader vote ....

Otherwise: I was simply being a PITA, so, forgive me my silly outburst ...
