4. The way to put this 'Safer with Bush nonsense is...
to just say to people:

"Do you feel safer than 4 years ago?
When an accident happens, is your first thought 'Is it terrorism?' Was it 4 years ago?
When an airplane passes low overhead, does your heart subtly skip a beat? Did it 4 years ago?
In the airport, are you looking over your shoulder every now and then? Did you 4 years ago"

5. Good questions.
Did you have to take your shoes off to board a plane 4 years ago when the Millenium bomb plots were being planned? No, because Clinton Admin was on it and foiled them.

6. And look at all the things Clinton did:
What did Bill Clinton do? He tripled the FBIs antiterrorism budget, sought tough antiterrorism legislation, ordered stockpiling of smallpox and anthrax vaccines (extremely important post-9/11), signed an airport security bill. He gave the order to kill OBL in 1996, and began to plan to attack terrorist training camps in Afghanistan after the USS Cole bombing. He ordered that $254 million of Taliban money be frozen, and even had money of OBL frozen as well.

Yet, Congress fought against these efforts.

Robert Oakley, a counterterrorism expert in the Reagan State Department, said "Overall, I give them very high marks" (WaPo) when asked about Clinton's efforts in national security.

Others praised Clinton. Newt Gingrich even said, "I think the president did exactly the right thing," and "By doing this we're sending the signal there are no sanctuaries for terrorists."
