What will be the results of a war on heroin in Afghanistan by US? |
|
Growing poppy is how a poor nation earns $$$$ for the locals. If the US goes after the poor farmers in the outer reaches of the country can be expect an increase in terroist attacks in Afghanistan? I see beginnings of a long civil war.

...they're going to need flowers to throw at our soldiers when we "liberate" them.

3. Growing poppies is how a poor nation makes billions for narco-barons. |
|
Afghanistan had all but wiped out its poppies before the invasion. The Taliban were commended by the UN for its eradication measures.
Where the US military goes, drugs follow. Who profits by, and who has the power to maintain, a global string of weak narco-states?
And what "War on Heroin"?

4. Are you kidding me?? The only reason we invaded Afghanistan |
|
was to restore the opium production. Sheesh! The Taliban destroyed all the crops which was deeply affecting the US and world markets. Most banks, Wall Street MUST have a viable drug trade to get the low interest money they need. Afghanistan was providing 70% of the drug trade until the Taliban shut them down. We invaded to get it up and running again. Had nothing to do with 9-11. 9-11 was a manufactured excuse for re-establishing the opium trade and for installing the pipeline that had been obstructed by the Taliban.
